This weekend, I discovered a cooking tip I haven't seen listed in any cookbooks.While you are preparing the food, and after the guests have arrived, you contrive to fill the house up with smoke, preferably enough to get at least two smoke detectors going.Then you go rushing about the house, opening all the windows, setting up fans, and generally doing everything short of calling the fire department.Let the guests sit for about 1/2 hour at 50 degrees (as a result of opening the windows) and serve the food.By this point, you have established expectations in your guests' minds that you can't fail to exceed!

Three traveling salesmen happened to meet in a bar in New Jersey. One of the men was from Tennessee, one was from North Carolina and one was from Kentucky. They got acquainted and started talking about problems with their wives.

Well, the first day, nothing, the second day, still nothing. But on the third day, a wonderful dinner was prepared, with wine and even dessert."
Then the man from North Carolina spoke up, "I sat down my wife down and told her that from now on, she will have to do all of the shopping and I want the house spotless when I get home. The first day, the house was a mess, the second day, no change. But! on the third day, the whole house was spotless from top to bottom, and the pantry was full of groceries."
