A programmer died after leading a rather quit life. This guy was lucky, he got a choice between going to heaven or hell.
So he went on a tour of heaven with St. Peter. All around him people was singing and clapping hands or just leading a mild, peacefull existence. "Mmm, this ain't bad", thought the programmer. "But what does hell look like?", he wondered.
Satan took him on a personal tour of Hell. They went to a bar with beautiful girls who did everything you asked with a smile. You didn't have to pay for anything, and It was situeted in a tropical paradise. "Now THIS I could go for."
The programmer chose hell. The moment he set foot there, 4 ugly demons grabbed him and carried him off to a huge fire. Everything smelled fould and diseased, and there wasn't a sign of the tropical paradise he visited on the tour. So he asked Satan about it.
Laughing evilly, Satan replied "That was the _demo_, man."

A Texan died and ascended into Heaven. St. Peter met him and welcomed him, saying "You will certainly enjoy Paradise."
The Texan shook his head sadly and said "I always thought that TEXAS was Paradise."
St. Peter said "Well, let me show you what we have to offer." He took the Texan to an area that had a beautiful river flowing through it with wildlife and flowers everywhere. "Isn't this beautiful?" said St. Peter
The Texan replied, "Yes, but not as pretty as the area around SAN ANTONIO."
Somewhat ruffled, St. Peter took him to another area where there were rolling hills, white tail deer and bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush everywhere. "Now" said St. Peter "Have you ever seen anything so wonderful?"
The Texan paused and said "Yes, it is beautiful but it does not hold a candle to the TEXAS HILL COUNTRY in the springtime."
Becoming more upset, St. Peter then took the Texan to a more...

There is an anecdote to illustrate the difference between illusion and reality of living abroad. Sardar Santa Singh arrived at the gates of paradise and what he saw pleased him immensely: people riding large limousines, casino, night clubs, preety girls in bikinis and liquor bars. When presented before God he expressed his delight to be there. God looked up his record and said "Santa, there has been a terrible mistake. You are not due here till four years later. You go back to earth and we will send for you on the right time."
Santa Singh went back. He looked forward to returning to paradise. When he finally died and appeared at the pearly gates, the sight that met his eyes was different: men sweeping gardens, cutting wood and doing back-breaking jobs. Women scrubbing floors, cooking, washing dishes and soiled garments.
"This is not the paradise you showed me last time," he protested to God.
"Last time you came on a tourist visa," replied more...
