    In March, 1999 a man living in Kandos (near Mudgee in NSW) received a bill for his as yet unused gas line stating that he owed $0.00. He ignored it and threw it away.In April he received another bill and threw that one away too. The following month the gas company sent him a very nasty note stating they were going to cancel his gas line if he didn't send them $0.00 by return mail. We weren`t sure you had really signed it. All these years, you`ve been signing your cheques, `XX`; this one is signed with three X`s..."

    A sign of prosperity
    Maurice started his very own business, which almost immediately began to prosper. He was soon a very rich man. One day, his bank manager rang him and said, “Maurice, I have a query on one of your recent cheques. Could you confirm it is one of yours? For years, you`ve been signing all cheques with two X’s but this one is signed with three X’s. Is it yours?”
